Hi Laura,

I think that golden hello's are only available for core/national curriculum subjects. However, since Psychology is now a science you could try to claim for a science bonus using the AO3 'how science works' criteria.

Hi all

I mentioned this before in the OCR community but i thought i would put this out on here to see what kind of response we can get. I have recently become able to apply for the FE Golden Hello and while this is not the reason to get into teaching, it does help in the current economic climate. When completing the application form, i noticed that social sciences was not accepted. Psychology as you may know, is now accepted as a science but i have been advised that they will not accept it as one and there is no point in applying. Feedback i have already had from other teachers of Psychology seem to follow a similar pattern.

Does anyone have any experience regarding this? I am going to follow it up now that the AS exam is out of the way but i would appreciate anyone else's comments on this

Thanks

Laura
